The Berks County Irish-American Fraternal Association is led by a dedicated board of volunteers who are passionate about preserving and celebrating Irish heritage in the Berks County community.

President

Justin “Judd” Doyle

Judd Doyle has served as President of the Berks County Irish-American Fraternal Association since 2019, bringing to the role years of organizational experience gained during his earlier tenure as Club Treasurer. His connection to Berks Irish runs deep — he was introduced to the organization by his father, Jim Doyle, who served as Treasurer before him and was involved with the club from its very earliest days.

What began as a son following his father’s lead quickly grew into a genuine passion for the organization and its mission. Judd became an enthusiastic volunteer at club events and a committed advocate for the people and traditions that make Berks Irish what it is today.

As President, Judd is driven by a sense of responsibility to those who built the club before him. He believes the founding vision of establishing a true home for Berks Irish — a place where the community can gather, celebrate, and preserve Irish heritage for generations to come — is worth every effort to see realized.

Judd has had the opportunity to visit Ireland and hopes to return to explore more of the country, including the regions where his own family’s roots lie.

Vice President

Samuel Philips

Sam joined the Berks Irish officer group in 2026 as Vice President. He has also been involved with the Berks Celtic Festival for the last few years.

Treasurer

Heather Wertz

Heather Wertz has been an active member of Berks Irish since 2018, contributing her time and dedication across nearly every facet of the organization. In 2026, she took on the role of Treasurer, and has also served as Co-Chairman of the Berks Celtic Festival for several years — a role that puts her at the center of the months-long planning effort that brings the event to life each year.

Outside of her organizational work, Heather has a passion for travel, with a particular love for Ireland. You’re also likely to find her unwinding at the beach or chasing down her next destination.

Secretary

Sheri Heckman

Sheri Heckman is the newly elected Secretary of the Berks Irish and has been a proud member for the past six years. Drawn to the club through her passion for her Irish heritage, Sheri joined to learn more about Irish culture, connect with new people, and find a community to call her own.

When she’s not volunteering with the club, Sheri loves to travel and has explored more than 20 countries — including many trips to Ireland, one of her favorite destinations. She is also the proud mother of five daughters and enjoys bringing her love of culture, adventure, and community into everything she does.

Berks Irish holds elections at our annual general meeting. Current terms run through December 2026.
